UK digital bank known for app-led consumer lending, savings, credit cards and increasingly broader everyday banking.
Highlights
About Zopa
Founded in 2005, Zopa began as a peer-to-peer lending platform and described itself as the first company of its kind. It secured a banking licence and launched Zopa Bank in June 2020, then closed its retail peer-to-peer investing business in 2021 to focus on banking.
Today, Zopa offers personal loans, savings accounts, credit cards, car finance, point-of-sale finance and the Biscuit current account, launched in 2025. Its products are delivered through an app and target UK retail customers who want simpler borrowing, saving and spending tools.
The firm is especially strong in consumer credit and savings: it has lent more than £13 billion, serves more than 1.5 million customers, and has expanded from lending into a broader digital-banking proposition while maintaining rapid growth and profitability.
