About YouLend
Founded in 2016 by Mikkel Sølvsten Velin, Kasper Larsen and Anders la Cour, YouLend began by addressing limited financing options for small businesses. It launched in the UK and Ireland in 2018, expanded into Europe in 2022 and entered the United States in 2023.
YouLend provides revenue-based financing and cash advances to SMEs, with repayments linked to future sales rather than fixed monthly instalments. Its platform is embedded into marketplaces, ecommerce platforms, payment-service providers and business software, allowing merchants to apply for funding within services they already use.
Its strongest area is embedded merchant finance at scale: the company says it has funded more than 400,000 businesses globally and works with platforms including eBay, Shopify, Etsy and Intuit QuickBooks. Institutional financing arrangements with J.P. Morgan and Castlelake have supported expansion in the UK, Europe and the US.
