Volante Global

Volante Global was launched in December 2017 by Talbir Bains and began trading during Q1 2018. It was established as a UK-headquartered, multi-class and multi-territory managing general agent focused on specialist insurance and reinsurance portfolios.

The group underwrites through specialist teams and capacity-provider partnerships across property and casualty, professional and financial lines, motor, space and aviation, marine and energy, and emerging-market reinsurance. Its model combines local underwriting operations with a central data and technology platform designed to support portfolio management, pricing, automation and broker distribution.

Volante is particularly differentiated by its combination of MGA operations with a Lloyd’s platform. Syndicate 1699 was launched with an initial £130 million stamp capacity, but closed to new and renewing business on January 31, 2026 and is now in solvent run-off; the wider Volante group continues to operate through its MGA activities.
