Vodafone was founded in 1984 as a subsidiary of Racal Electronics and made the UK’s first mobile phone call on its network in January 1985. Its registered office is in Newbury, Berkshire, where the business retains a major UK base.

The group provides mobile, fixed broadband, television, business connectivity, digital services and Internet of Things solutions. Its controlled operations cover Europe and Africa, while partnerships, joint ventures and associates extend its reach beyond those markets.

Vodafone is especially strong in scaled connectivity infrastructure, enterprise communications, IoT and mobile financial services.
