Tokio Marine Kiln

Tokio Marine Kiln traces its history to 12 July 1962, when Robert Kiln and two partners founded a specialist underwriting syndicate at Lloyd’s of London. Tokio Marine Group acquired Kiln in 2008, and the business adopted the Tokio Marine Kiln name in 2014.

TMK underwrites specialist insurance and reinsurance through the Lloyd’s market, with products spanning aviation, cyber, energy, fine art, intellectual property, liability, marine cargo, political risk, property and other specialist exposures. Its business operates across the UK, US and Asia and serves customers in more than 170 countries.

The firm is especially strong in specialist underwriting, property and claims service. It is one of the larger Lloyd’s managing agents by premium volume, leads much of the business it writes at Lloyd’s, and uses a global network of coverholders to distribute delegated authority business.
