About Thales
Thales traces its roots to Compagnie Française Thomson-Houston, established in 1893. Its modern form emerged when Thomson-CSF was created in 1968; the company adopted the Thales name in 2000. Its registered office is in Meudon, France.
The group develops products, systems and services for governments, institutions and businesses across defence, aerospace and space, cyber and digital. Its work includes radar and communications, avionics, satellites, cybersecurity, biometrics and digital identity solutions.
Thales is especially strong where engineering, security and reliability matter: large-scale defence and aerospace programmes, secure digital identities, and technology for critical infrastructure. It reported €20.6 billion in 2024 sales, employed 83,206 people at year-end, and invests close to €4 billion annually in research and development.
