Highlights
About Sweco Group
Sweco’s modern group was formed in 1997 when architecture firm FFNS, founded in 1958, acquired VBB; the wider business also incorporates older engineering firms, including businesses with roots going back to 1889. Its registered office is in Stockholm, Sweden, and the company is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm.
Sweco provides architecture, engineering and consultancy services across buildings and urban areas, water, energy and industry, and transportation infrastructure. It works with public-sector bodies and private companies on projects involving sustainable urban development, infrastructure, energy transition, environmental protection and digitalisation.
The firm’s distinguishing feature is its combination of European scale and decentralised delivery: around 1,700 autonomous teams work across approximately 15 European markets. Its breadth is particularly relevant for students interested in multidisciplinary consulting, where architecture, civil engineering, environmental expertise and project management are combined on large public and private-sector projects.
