Sompo International

Sompo International was established in 2017 after Sompo Holdings completed its acquisition of Endurance Specialty Holdings for $6.3 billion and launched a Bermuda-based global commercial insurance and reinsurance platform. It is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Japan-listed Sompo Holdings.

The firm provides commercial property and casualty insurance, consumer insurance and reinsurance through businesses spanning North America, Bermuda, the UK, Continental Europe and Asia-Pacific. Its underwriting portfolio includes agriculture, professional lines, property, marine, energy, casualty, cyber, catastrophe and other specialty risks.

Its strongest positioning is in specialty underwriting and reinsurance for complex or hard-to-place exposures, supported by substantial commercial insurance and reinsurance premium volumes and strong financial ratings at its principal operating subsidiaries.
