Sixth Street

Founded in 2009, Sixth Street began as TPG’s dedicated global credit and credit-related investing platform and became an independent, unaffiliated business in May 2020. It is led by co-founder and CEO Alan Waxman.

Sixth Street invests across the capital structure and across stages of company growth, combining direct lending, growth equity, private equity, public-market strategies, infrastructure, special situations, asset-backed finance, and royalty investing. Its model emphasizes flexible capital and collaboration across investment teams rather than a single flagship strategy.

The firm is especially strong in complex, tailored financing and growth situations where borrowers or management teams may need a mix of debt, equity, structured capital, or asset-level solutions.
