Schonfeld Strategic Advisors

Founded by Steven Schonfeld in 1988 as a short-term proprietary trading firm, Schonfeld expanded into external hedge-fund allocations in 1998, added quantitative trading in 2000 and opened to outside capital in 2016. It now operates as a multi-strategy, multi-manager investment platform with offices spanning five continents.

Schonfeld allocates capital to internal portfolio managers and external partner funds across four core strategies: Quantitative, Fundamental Equity, Tactical Trading, and Discretionary Macro & Fixed Income. The platform emphasizes data, technology, execution and centralized risk management across strategies and geographies.

For students, the firm is particularly relevant for investment, quantitative research, technology, risk and COO-track roles. Its Analyst Institute and Ascent programs provide structured development for analysts and associate portfolio managers, while current internship listings cover investment, quantitative, data, technology, operations, risk and strategy positions.
