Sanctuary Group

Sanctuary was established on 5 May 1969 and has grown through mergers, acquisitions and development into a group operating across England and Scotland. Its parent organisation is Sanctuary Housing Association, an exempt charity whose income is reinvested in homes and services rather than distributed to shareholders.

The group provides affordable and shared-ownership housing, new-home development, supported living, care homes, student accommodation and keyworker housing. It owns and manages more than 125,000 units and serves more than a quarter of a million people.

For a business student, Sanctuary is particularly relevant for its scale and breadth: its operations span property development, housing management, care, student accommodation, treasury, finance, procurement, technology and corporate services. Its graduate programme includes rotations across affordable housing, commercial operations and corporate functions.
