Highlights
About Rothesay
Rothesay was founded and authorised in 2007 by Tom Pearce and Addy Loudiadis. It is now the UK's largest pensions insurance specialist, focused exclusively on securing defined-benefit pension liabilities rather than offering broad life-insurance products.
The firm provides buy-ins and buy-outs for pension schemes, as well as reinsurance solutions for insurers with existing annuity portfolios. In a buy-in, Rothesay insures some or all of a scheme's benefits while the scheme remains in place; in a buy-out, member benefits transfer into individual policies and the pension scheme can wind up.
Rothesay is particularly strong in large and complex transactions that combine actuarial underwriting, longevity-risk management, investment origination and policy administration. Its investment approach centres on matching liabilities with predictable, high-quality assets, supported by daily balance-sheet analysis and an in-house risk-management platform.
