Ripple

Ripple was founded in September 2012 alongside the launch of the XRP Ledger and XRP. It is a privately held B2B technology company, distinct from XRP: Ripple develops commercial software, while XRP is the native digital asset of the open-source XRP Ledger.

Today, Ripple provides institutional infrastructure across cross-border payments, digital-asset custody, stablecoins and tokenization. Its products are aimed at banks, fintechs, crypto businesses and other financial institutions that want to move, store or issue digital assets within compliance and governance frameworks.

The firm is especially strong in enterprise-focused blockchain applications: its payments products target real-time international settlement, while Ripple Custody supports institutional asset management and RLUSD is a U.S.-dollar-backed stablecoin designed for payments, treasury flows and other business use cases.
