About Prodigy Finance
Founded in 2007 by three MBA students, Prodigy Finance was created to address the difficulty international students face obtaining education loans from traditional banks. It is headquartered in London and operates with hubs in the United States, South Africa and India.
Prodigy Finance provides education loans to international postgraduate students studying outside their country of residence. Its underwriting considers academic background and expected future earning potential alongside financial information, allowing many eligible borrowers to apply without a co-signer or collateral.
The firm is especially strong in cross-border student lending: it has funded more than 47,000 international master's students and supports applicants from more than 150 countries. Capital comes from a global community of investors as well as institutional funding sources, while the company is regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority for certain consumer-credit activities.
