Founded in 1985, PKF Smith Cooper has grown from a local practice into a Midlands-focused accountancy and advisory firm with offices across Derby, Nottingham, Birmingham and elsewhere in the region. The firm primarily supports owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs and larger corporate clients with compliance, growth and strategic needs. Its corporate finance team advises on acquisitions, disposals, valuations, financial due diligence, modelling, debt advisory and succession-related transactions.

PKF Smith Cooper is particularly notable for its Midlands dealmaking activity: the firm reported £400 million of total deal value in 2025 and says it can handle transactions from £2 million to £150 million.
