PJT Partners began trading as an independent, publicly listed firm on October 1, 2015, following the spin-off of Blackstone’s advisory and Park Hill businesses and their combination with PJT Capital, founded by Paul J. Taubman in 2013. Its headquarters are in New York and London, and it trades on the NYSE under the ticker PJT.

The firm advises companies, boards, financial sponsors, creditors, governments and investment managers. Its main businesses are Strategic Advisory, Restructuring & Special Situations, and PJT Park Hill, which provides private-fund advisory, fundraising and private-capital solutions across strategies including private equity, real estate, hedge funds, alternative credit and secondaries.

PJT is especially strong in complex restructurings, liability management, distressed situations and high-stakes strategic advice. Its 2025 filing says the restructuring business ranked #1 in global and U.S. announced restructurings in three of the previous four years, while 2025 revenue reached $1.71 billion. For students, the platform is smaller than a universal bank—1,224 employees globally at year-end 2025—but offers exposure to specialized advisory work across 17 offices in 10 countries.
