Octopus Capital

Octopus Capital is the institutional asset-management arm of Octopus Investments. Its corporate roots date to 2000, while the Octopus Capital brand launched on 12 May 2025 to give the group’s institutional business a distinct identity alongside its retail investment activities.

The firm invests across three areas: real estate, energy and infrastructure, and private debt. Its strategies target long-term themes including housing, later living, renewable energy, digital infrastructure and the decarbonisation of businesses.

Octopus Capital is particularly established in real-estate lending: the group says it has lent more than £4.3 billion into the asset class since 2013. It also positions responsible investment and impact measurement as central to its investment process and operates within the wider Octopus group, which became B Corp certified in 2021 and recertified in 2024.
