About NatWest Markets
NatWest Markets was created on 5 December 2016 when RBS rebranded its Corporate & Institutional Banking business ahead of the UK ring-fencing structure. The legal entity formerly known as The Royal Bank of Scotland plc was renamed NatWest Markets Plc on 30 April 2018.
The business provides financing, risk-management and trading solutions to corporate and institutional customers. Its principal activities include rates, currencies, credit and capital-markets products, with FX services ranging from currency execution to more complex hedging and risk-management solutions.
NatWest Markets is particularly relevant for students interested in macro markets, fixed income, foreign exchange, structuring, sales, trading and quantitative analytics. In 2025, stronger Currencies and Capital Markets performance was the main driver of higher income, while Fixed Income revenues declined.
