Momentum Group Limited

Momentum Group was formed in December 2010 through the merger of Metropolitan Holdings and Momentum Group. Its holding company was renamed Momentum Group in 2024, while Momentum and Metropolitan remain major client-facing brands.

The group provides long- and short-term insurance, investments and savings, asset management, healthcare administration, health-risk management, employee benefits, and wellness and rewards services. Its businesses include Momentum, Metropolitan, Guardrisk and Eris, with operations in South Africa and selected African markets.

Momentum Group is particularly focused on advice-led financial solutions supported by technology and vertically integrated product and asset-management capabilities. Its scale is concentrated in insurance, retirement and investment products, corporate benefits, non-life insurance and health-related services rather than investment banking or pure-play asset management.
