Local Pensions Partnership Investments Ltd (LPPI)

LPPI was incorporated on 21 October 2015 and is the investment-management arm of the Local Pensions Partnership group. The third-party description is broadly right on pooling and investment management, but LPPI should not be described primarily as a pension-administration provider: its core role is managing and advising on investments for UK public-sector pension funds.

LPPI works with nine pension-fund partners and was responsible for approximately £60 billion in funds as at 30 June 2026. It operates pooled investment vehicles and provides investment solutions and advice across global equities, fixed income, infrastructure, real estate, private equity, credit and alternatives.

Its clearest areas of strength are institutional multi-asset investing, infrastructure and responsible investment. Through GLIL Infrastructure, a major LPPI partnership, participating pension investors had committed £4.1 billion and deployed more than £3.3 billion into UK infrastructure assets by 31 March 2025.
