Highlights
About London Stock Exchange Group plc
LSEG was created in October 2007 when the London Stock Exchange merged with Borsa Italiana. It expanded beyond exchange operations through the Russell index acquisition, the development of FTSE Russell, and the completion of its Refinitiv acquisition on 29 January 2021.
The group operates four divisions: Data & Analytics, FTSE Russell, Risk Intelligence and Markets. Its businesses cover market data, indices, capital formation, trading venues, clearing, post-trade services, regulatory reporting and risk management across the financial-markets value chain.
LSEG is especially strong where financial infrastructure and information meet: FTSE Russell benchmarks support portfolio construction and asset allocation, while its Markets and Post Trade businesses provide trading and clearing infrastructure. The Refinitiv integration also made data, workflow and analytics a much larger part of the group, giving interns exposure to a technology-heavy financial-services platform rather than a conventional investment bank.
