Founded in 1999 by Seth Merrin, Liquidnet began as an electronic marketplace for institutional investors to trade large stock blocks anonymously. TP ICAP completed its acquisition of Liquidnet in 2021, and Liquidnet now operates as part of the wider markets-infrastructure group.
