Lazard

Founded in New Orleans in 1848 as a dry-goods merchant, Lazard moved into banking and foreign exchange before developing separate U.S., French and U.K. businesses. The three “Houses of Lazard” formally reunited as Lazard LLC in 2000, and the firm became publicly listed in 2005.

Today, Lazard advises companies, governments, sovereign entities, investors and other institutions on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, capital solutions, restructuring, liability management and broader strategic issues. Its Asset Management business manages equities, fixed income, alternatives and private-market strategies for institutional and private clients.

The firm is particularly associated with independent advice on complex transactions, restructurings and strategic situations, supported by a multinational network with local teams.
