Klesch Group

Klesch Group was established in 1990 by A. Gary Klesch and has its principal offices in Geneva and London. The group has evolved from an industrial commodities investor into an independent refining business focused on energy infrastructure.

Klesch operates three refineries: Heide in Germany, Kalundborg in Denmark and Ruhr Oel in Germany. Its activities cover crude procurement, refining, petroleum and chemical product sales, logistics and price-risk management rather than the broader metals-and-chemicals portfolio described in the older third-party blurb.

The firm is especially strong at acquiring complex, highly regulated refinery assets and improving their operational and commercial performance. Its model combines hands-on asset management, refinery optimisation, physical commodities trading and hedging against oil-price and feedstock exposure.
