IK Partners

Established in 1989, IK Partners is a European private equity firm with roots in Nordic buyouts. It invests across Benelux, DACH, France, the Nordics, the UK and, since 2026, Iberia. The firm operates nine offices and is majority-owned by Wendel, which acquired a 51% stake in 2024.

IK invests through four strategies: Mid Cap, Small Cap, Development Capital and Partnership Fund. Its core sectors are Business Services, Healthcare and Industrials, with target enterprise values ranging from below €80 million in Development Capital to more than €200 million in the Mid Cap and Partnership Fund strategies.

The firm’s distinguishing feature is its combination of local European investment teams with dedicated Operations, Capital Markets and Responsible Investment functions. For students, an important practical point is that IK’s careers page currently says it does not offer summer internships.
