HaysMac traces its professional heritage to 1866 and was formed in its current lineage through the 1 January 2001 merger of Hays Allan and MacIntyre & Co. It is headquartered in London and has expanded to a second office in Cape Town, opened in January 2024.

The firm provides audit and assurance, tax, outsourcing, deal advisory, risk assurance and corporate finance services to businesses, listed companies, charities, social-purpose organisations, entrepreneurs and private clients. Its work is organised around sector expertise spanning areas such as financial services, fintech, property, hospitality, technology, media and social purpose.

HaysMac is particularly strong in audit: it acts for more than 40 listed companies and over 1,000 audit clients, and reports that all audit files reviewed by external regulators in the past year passed inspection. For students, it offers placement and graduate routes in audit, tax and outsourcing, with ACA training through the ICAEW.
