About GSA Capital
GSA Capital was founded in 2005 when Jon Hiscock spun a Deutsche Bank statistical-arbitrage team out of the bank; the new firm began with 15 people. GSA stands for Global Statistical Arbitrage, reflecting its original market-neutral equity strategy.
Today, GSA manages absolute-return and alternative-investment strategies using systematic approaches across liquid markets, asset classes and regions. Its holding periods range from minutes to months, and the firm manages its own capital alongside external investor capital.
The firm is especially strong in quantitative research, applied mathematics, computer science and proprietary trading technology. Its public record includes EuroHedge awards for Equity Market Neutral & Quantitative Strategies in 2009 and 2022, and for Long-Term Performance in Equity Strategies over five years in 2023.
