Goodbody Stockbrokers was established in 1877 and is headquartered in Dublin. AIB agreed to acquire the business in March 2021 for an enterprise value of approximately €82 million, completing the acquisition later that year.

Today, Goodbody operates across wealth management, investment banking, asset management and private-capital investing. Its investment-banking platform covers M&A, corporate finance, equity and debt markets, research, corporate broking and strategic advisory, with a particular focus on Irish and UK companies and investors.

The firm is especially strong in Irish capital markets and corporate advisory: it researches approximately 75 companies, maintains relationships with almost 400 institutional investors globally, and advises listed, private and semi-state organisations on fundraising, acquisitions, disposals and strategic decisions.
