GoCardless

GoCardless was incorporated in the UK on January 17, 2011, originally under the name Groupay Limited. It began by simplifying Direct Debit for smaller businesses and has since expanded into a broader bank-payments platform. On September 1, 2026, Mollie completed its acquisition of GoCardless; GoCardless continues to operate under its own brand as a Mollie company.

The platform helps businesses collect one-off and recurring payments through bank debit schemes such as Bacs, ACH Debit and SEPA Direct Debit. It also offers Instant Bank Pay using open banking, outbound payments, international collection, payment scheduling and fraud-reduction tools such as Verified Mandates.

Its strongest area is account-to-account payments for recurring-revenue businesses, including subscription, software, membership and invoice-led models. The company also has a substantial integration ecosystem, connecting with more than 350 business-software platforms and supporting bank-account connections across the UK and Europe.
