About Fulcrum Asset Management
Founded in 2004, Fulcrum Asset Management is an independent investment manager headquartered in London, with offices in New York and Tokyo. Founder and Executive Chairman Gavyn Davies previously served as Goldman Sachs' Chief Economist and Chairman of its Research Department, as well as Chairman of the BBC.
Fulcrum's business is organised around three capabilities: Discretionary Strategies, Alternative Solutions and Quantitative Strategies. Its heritage is in macroeconomic research, and its investment process links economic analysis with systematic modelling, portfolio construction and risk management across liquid multi-asset markets.
The firm's clearest strength is research-led macro investing rather than traditional long-only asset management. Recent work includes quantitative frameworks that combine macroeconomic variables, nowcasting and portfolio optimisation, while its Multi Asset Trend strategy applies systematic trend-following across equities, fixed income, currencies, commodities, credit and interest-rate markets.
