EQ has operated for over 20 years and became part of Sumer in 2023. Its subsequent expansion has taken the firm from a single office to a 12-office network across Scotland and Northern England, with 310 employees reported after its August 2026 merger with Innes & Partners.

The firm provides accounting, audit and assurance, tax, payroll, bookkeeping and business advisory services. Its client base is centred on small and medium-sized businesses, alongside individuals, charities and other organisations.

EQ has particular depth in agriculture, as well as healthcare, leisure, engineering and manufacturing, professions, property and construction, technology and charities. Its model combines local client relationships with the wider resources and specialist capabilities available through Sumer.
