About CPP Investments

Established by an Act of Parliament in 1997, CPP Investments manages the investment assets of the Canada Pension Plan. It is headquartered in Toronto and operates independently of the Canada Pension Plan and at arm’s length from governments, with an investment-only mandate to maximize long-term returns without undue risk of loss.

The organization invests globally across public equities, private equities, fixed income, credit, real estate, infrastructure and other strategies. Its portfolio approach combines internal investment expertise, external partnerships and diversification across asset classes, sectors and geographies.

CPP Investments is especially relevant for students interested in institutional investing, private markets and long-horizon portfolio construction. Its scale supports direct investments, co-investments and dedicated teams across both liquid and illiquid markets, while its career programs offer exposure to active investments and global public and private markets.
