Compound Equity Group

Compound Equity Group was founded in 2024 by Jonathan Knowles, who previously spent more than 30 years managing investments at Capital Group. The firm is based in Henley-on-Thames, England, and operates as a small investment team.

CEG manages two parallel global equity funds for UK and Irish investors through the River Global Investors platform. Its strategy is deliberately concentrated: the funds typically own 20–25 businesses selected from a research universe of roughly 150 companies.

The firm's distinctive strengths are fundamental research, patience and portfolio concentration. It looks for profitable businesses with durable competitive advantages, uses data and facts rather than momentum or hunches, and is willing to hold investments for many years while continuously reassessing the original thesis.
