Centrica plc

Centrica was formed on 17 February 1997 when British Gas plc demerged. Its registered office and corporate headquarters are in Windsor, Berkshire.

The group operates across the energy value chain: it supplies energy and home services through brands including British Gas and Bord Gáis Energy, trades gas, power and LNG through Centrica Energy, and owns or manages energy infrastructure including storage, power and nuclear interests.

Its strongest differentiators are its consumer scale, wholesale-market capabilities and integrated infrastructure. The 2025 annual report highlights more than 10 million customers, 22,000 colleagues and 19.5GW of renewable and flexible capacity under management.
