CBRE traces its roots to San Francisco in 1906 and became CBRE Group, Inc. after expanding through acquisitions including Richard Ellis International and Trammell Crow Company. Dallas has been its global headquarters city since 2020.

The firm advises real estate investors and occupiers through four main segments: Advisory, Building Operations & Experience, Project Management, and Real Estate Investments. Its services include leasing, property sales, debt origination, mortgage servicing, valuation, facilities management, property management, project management, investment management and development.

CBRE is especially strong in transaction execution and operational scale. In the United States, it ranked first for commercial real estate investment sales in 2025 for the 20th consecutive year, while its UK property-management business reports responsibility for more than 215 million square feet of assets.
