About Caterpillar Inc.

Founded in 1925 through the merger of the Holt Manufacturing Company and C. L. Best Tractor Co., Caterpillar is headquartered in Irving, Texas. Its businesses span Construction Industries, Resource Industries, Energy & Transportation and Financial Products, with products sold largely through independent Cat dealers.

Caterpillar makes construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural-gas engines, industrial gas turbines, locomotives and related parts and services. Its strongest differentiators are its broad equipment range, dealer-supported aftermarket model and growing use of connected, automated and digital tools to improve fleet uptime, productivity and total cost of ownership.

For students, the company offers exposure beyond engineering and manufacturing: its early-career programs cover areas including finance, supply chain, data, marketing, information technology, human resources and operations.
