BTG Pactual

BTG Pactual traces its origins to 1983, when Pactual was founded as a securities distributor in Rio de Janeiro; it began operating as a bank and opened its São Paulo office in 1989. The group now operates as an investment bank, asset manager, wealth manager, lender, and sales-and-trading platform.

Its businesses cover investment banking, corporate lending, sales and trading, asset management, wealth management, digital investments, and banking. BTG says it has approximately 12,000 professionals across 13 countries, serving corporations, governments, institutional investors, high-net-worth individuals, and retail customers.

The firm is particularly strong in Latin American capital markets and advisory work. In 2025, it ranked first in the region by ECM deal count with 28 transactions, while Global Finance ranked it the leading Latin American investment bank and reported more than $15 billion of 2025 M&A deal volume.
