About British Airways
British Airways was created in 1974 through the merger of British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) and British European Airways (BEA). It is part of International Airlines Group (IAG), alongside airlines including Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling and LEVEL.
The airline operates passenger and cargo services from London and other UK airports, with London Heathrow as its main hub. Its current operation spans around 200 destinations in more than 75 countries and includes long-haul and short-haul services, multiple cabin classes, lounges and the British Airways Club loyalty programme.
British Airways is particularly strong in international connectivity, premium long-haul travel and transatlantic flying. It was a founding member of the oneworld alliance and participates in four joint-business agreements, extending its network through partners including American Airlines, Iberia, Finnair, Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways and China Southern.
