Highlights
About BGF
BGF was established in 2011 to address the funding gap for growing UK businesses and was backed by Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group, NatWest and Standard Chartered. It subsequently launched in the Republic of Ireland and operates from a regional network covering the UK and Ireland.
BGF provides patient, minority equity capital to growth-stage businesses, alongside follow-on funding and value-creation support. It also invests in early-stage deep-tech and life-sciences companies, from late seed to Series B.
Its distinctive strength is a non-controlling, long-term investment model: BGF partners with founders and management teams without taking control, supporting expansion, acquisitions, new products and international growth. The firm is particularly notable for its regional coverage, broad sector remit and high volume of growth-capital investing.
