About Benefact Group
Benefact Group traces its roots to 1887, when Ecclesiastical Buildings Fire Office was established to protect disadvantaged parishes. In 1972, ownership was transferred to an independent charity, now known as Benefact Trust, which receives the Group’s available profits for charitable purposes.
Today, Benefact Group operates through three divisions: Specialist Insurance, Asset Management, and Broking & Advisory. Its businesses operate across the UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia, with brands including Ecclesiastical, Ansvar, EdenTree, Lloyd & Whyte and Lycetts.
The Group is particularly strong in specialist insurance for charities, faith organisations, heritage, education, property and other niche sectors. EdenTree provides responsible and sustainable investment products, while the Group’s distinctive ownership model has supported more than £275m of giving to charities and good causes since 2014.
