About Bank of China
Established in February 1912 and headquartered in Beijing, Bank of China is one of China’s large state-owned commercial banks. It evolved from China’s former central and foreign-exchange bank into a listed universal banking group with substantial overseas operations.
The group provides corporate banking, personal banking, financial markets, investment banking, insurance, fund management, asset management, aircraft leasing, financial leasing and related services. Its international network is particularly relevant to companies, financial institutions and investors doing business with China.
BOC is especially strong in cross-border trade and investment finance and in RMB internationalisation. It was appointed the world’s first RMB clearing bank in 2003 and remains a major provider of cross-border RMB settlement, trade finance and China-related financial services.
