Balfour Beatty plc

Balfour Beatty began trading in London on 12 January 1909, founded by George Balfour and Andrew Beatty. It has since developed into an international infrastructure group operating across the UK, the United States and Hong Kong.

The company operates through Infrastructure Investments, Construction Services and Support Services. Its activities span project financing, development, design, construction, maintenance and operation across transport, buildings, energy, defence and other critical infrastructure.

Balfour Beatty is particularly strong in large, technically complex projects and long-term infrastructure programmes. Its 2025 results showed strong exposure to UK power transmission and generation, US buildings and public-private partnership assets, alongside a record order book.
