Astorg was formed in 1998 after a spin-off from Suez and is headquartered in Luxembourg, with offices in London, Paris, New York, Frankfurt, Milan and Luxembourg. It invests through flagship and mid-cap buyout strategies, generally seeking controlling positions while retaining flexibility to pursue minority investments.

The firm partners with entrepreneurs and management teams to acquire companies headquartered in Europe or the US, providing capital, governance and strategic support. Its focus is on businesses with strong market positions, sustainable margins, mission-critical products, intellectual property or hard-to-replicate manufacturing capabilities.

Astorg is particularly active in healthcare, software and technology, business-to-business services, and technology-based industrials. Its internship programme offers exposure to origination, due diligence, acquisitions, divestments, portfolio management and co-investment.
