Ashmore Group plc

Ashmore’s business was founded in 1992 as part of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ). Senior management pursued a buyout in 1998, completed in 1999, making Ashmore independent; Ashmore Group plc listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2006.

The firm manages emerging-market strategies across external debt, local-currency debt, corporate debt, equities and alternatives. Its investment approach combines macroeconomic and political analysis with active, value-oriented portfolio management, particularly in markets where liquidity, information quality and country-specific risks matter.

Ashmore is especially strong in emerging-market fixed income and equities. Its fixed-income platform covers hard- and local-currency debt, while its equity team invests across global emerging markets, regions and individual countries. The firm is headquartered in London and serves institutional, intermediary and other investors through pooled funds, segregated accounts and structured products.
