About Apollo ibott 1971
Apollo ibott 1971 is the embedded-insurance platform within Apollo, a specialist insurance business operating at Lloyd’s. Apollo launched in 2009; ibott’s Syndicate 1971 began as a 2019 special-purpose arrangement and became a standalone syndicate from January 2022.
The team develops embedded and usage-based insurance for digital-economy businesses, with coverage spanning auto liability, general liability, umbrella, accident and health. Its stated areas of focus include delivery, rideshare, autonomous and electric vehicles, micro-mobility, vehicle leasing, accommodation sharing, AI platforms and other emerging technologies.
Its distinctive strength is combining underwriting with data science, actuarial analysis, claims and technology-enabled distribution. Apollo reports that ibott reached $500 million of premium in 2024 and brought three new platform partnerships live, while its innovation team highlights a track record in sharing-economy and autonomous-risk insurance.
