Amazon operates online and physical retail, a third-party marketplace, advertising, subscriptions such as Prime, digital entertainment, consumer devices, logistics, and healthcare services. Amazon Web Services provides cloud infrastructure and platform services to businesses and governments.

Its strongest positions are scale-driven businesses: online retail and marketplace infrastructure, fulfilment and delivery, digital advertising, and cloud computing. AWS generated $128.7 billion of sales in 2025 and held a 29% share of global cloud infrastructure services in Q3 2025, according to Synergy Research Group.
