Ageas

Ageas is a listed Belgian insurance group whose roots date to 1824 through its Belgian business, AG Insurance. The group adopted the Ageas name in 2010 after the restructuring and separation of Fortis’s banking and insurance activities; its registered office is in Brussels.

The group provides Life, Non-Life and reinsurance products through wholly owned businesses, joint ventures and long-term partnerships. Its main operating regions are Belgium, Europe and Asia, with Ageas Re serving corporate clients internationally.

Ageas is especially strong in Belgium, where AG Insurance is the number-one provider in both Life and Non-Life insurance. Its partnership-led model is also significant in Asia, while Ageas Re gives the group a specialist presence in property and casualty, credit and bond, engineering and agriculture reinsurance.
