About AFRY Capital
AFRY Capital is AFRY’s London-based investment-banking business, founded in 1999. It operates as an independent, sector-focused M&A and corporate-finance adviser and is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority. AFRY itself was formed in 2019 through the merger of Swedish engineering group ÅF and Finnish consultancy Pöyry, whose industrial and energy roots date back to 1895 and the 1950s respectively.
The firm advises companies, private-equity investors and infrastructure-focused investors on acquisitions, disposals, capital raising and strategic transactions. Almost all of its assignments have a cross-border dimension, supported by AFRY’s wider engineering and advisory expertise across energy, industry and infrastructure.
AFRY Capital is particularly strong in forest and wood products, pulp and paper, packaging, industrial manufacturing, energy transition and renewables, and energy utilities and infrastructure. Its clearest specialist position is in pulp and paper: the firm says it has Europe’s largest dedicated advisory team in that sector and has advised six of the world’s ten largest pulp and paper companies over the past four years.
