Aequitas Research traces its coverage back to 2015; its Singapore legal entity, Aequitas Research Private Limited, was incorporated on July 16, 2018. The firm was founded by Sumeet Singh, who previously held equity-research roles at Lehman Brothers, IIFL, Religare and Smartkarma.

The firm provides institutional investors with independent research on US and Asia-Pacific equity-capital-markets activity. Its coverage includes IPOs and placements above US$100 million, excluding biotech, as well as APAC lock-up expiries. Research runs from pre-IPO analysis through live pricing, listing and post-listing trading.

Aequitas is especially focused on fundamental, bottom-up analysis supported by a proprietary quantitative framework. Its strongest published track record is in IPO and placement analysis: the firm reports coverage of more than 1,000 IPOs and 1,600 placements since 2015, with accuracy rates above 69% for both categories. It operates through Singapore and UK entities and lists offices in London, Singapore and Mumbai.
