Aegon Ltd

Aegon Ltd was created in 1983 through the merger of Dutch insurers AGO and Ennia, although its predecessor businesses date back to the nineteenth century. It acquired Transamerica in 1999, which is now the group’s central business. Aegon is currently headquartered at Schiphol in the Netherlands and domiciled in Bermuda; it plans to relocate its head office and legal seat to the United States and rename the holding company Transamerica Inc. by January 1, 2028, subject to approvals.

The group’s portfolio is led by Transamerica, which provides life insurance, annuities, retirement and investment solutions in the United States. Aegon also owns Aegon Asset Management and international insurance businesses and partnerships. Its current strategic priority is building a larger US life-insurance and retirement group, while expanding asset management and maintaining selected international operations.

For UK applicants, Aegon UK provides workplace pensions, savings and investment platforms to customers, employers and advisers. Aegon announced an agreed £2.0 billion sale of Aegon UK to Standard Life plc in April 2026; completion is expected around the end of 2026, subject to regulatory and other approvals. The UK careers site continues to advertise internships, apprenticeships and graduate roles across areas including technology, risk, finance, legal and customer operations.
